Dr. Valerie Nesser
Luxating Patella Clinic
10 AM - 2 PM
Dr. Nesser received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University in 2014. She then completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, followed by a three year residency in small animal surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nesser moved to Charleston to join the team at Veterinary Specialty Care in 2018 and is excited to be living closer to family.
While Dr. Nesser enjoys all aspects of surgery, her professional interests include orthopedics and minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy, laparoscopy, thoracosocpy). She has authored several research papers, lectured at national conferences, and has worked on projects involving canine total hip replacement, feline ureteral stones, perioperative sepsis, and pain management. Her goal is to provide cutting edge surgical techniques that aim to minimize pain and recovery time, while optimizing outcome and quality of life.
